About FiAB

A convergence of science, industry, and innovation.

The Frontiers in Animal Biotechnology (FiAB) is the flagship annual conference of the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), Hyderabad. Starting 2026, this gathering brings together researchers, clinicians, industry leaders, and students to examine the most pressing challenges in animal health through the lens of modern biotechnology.

FiAB aims to establish a global platform bringing together leading scientists, researchers, and innovators to discuss groundbreaking advancements, address critical challenges, and shape the future of animal biotechnology. The conference will delve into cutting-edge themes, including livestock health, transgenics, genomics, reproductive biotechnology, and One Health initiatives.

The inaugural edition of FiAB will center on a critical challenge impacting livestock health and dairy economics globally. The dedicated theme for FiAB 2026 is "Mastitis – Diagnosis, Therapy and Beyond." The conference will serve as a high-level platform to bridge foundational science with translational solutions. We aim to explore the complete spectrum of the disease, moving from advanced diagnostics to cutting-edge therapeutic strategies and alternative interventions.

Three pillars of inquiry

FiAB 2026 is structured around the full spectrum of mastitis research — from fundamental diagnostics to data-driven bioinformatics and translational therapeutics.

Diagnostics
TRACK 01

Diagnostics

From conventional culture to molecular PCR and isothermal amplification — hands-on training in the complete diagnostic pipeline for mastitis pathogen detection and antimicrobial susceptibility profiling.

Bioinformatics
TRACK 02

Bioinformatics

Genome assembly, annotation, AMR gene detection, and phylogenetic analysis — practical command-line bioinformatics for understanding mastitis pathogen populations and resistance mechanisms.

Therapy
TRACK 03

Therapy & Beyond

Alternatives to antibiotics, novel therapeutics, omics approaches, and host-pathogen interaction studies — the translational frontier of mastitis research and next-generation intervention strategies.
